Echo everything other customers have said, took my car in for repair yet again terrible service never call you to give you up date, they had my car over a week and never even started work on it then held my car as ransom telling me i was to pay for repairs. arrogant unhelpful, rip off merchants, unproffessinonal, courtsey car blowing exhuast stinks of petrol and the alarm went off every time you opened the car. STAY WELL CLEAR OFF CALDER MOTOR COMPANY. Mot and warranty not worth the paper its written on i had to replace a tyre 1 week after picking the car up due to it being torn in several places on the inner wall and this car was moted the day before i picked it up, locking nuts corroided that bad couldn’t the wheels off the car even the spare was flat with a nail in it. I would not recommend this mob to anyone they give second hand car dealers a bad name they even called me swearing down the fone via voicemail because i had called a few times for an update, they had my car 6 days at that point 8 days on still haven’t got it back. DEE IRELAND YOU HAVE BEEN NAMED AND SHAMED.Everyone looking for a new car save your money, stress and just being taken for a ride avoid this garage go to a main dealer at least you will get a cup of tea when you spend your hard earned cash.
My experience with calder motor co has been great,any time I required help or advice they were spot on,i still have my 3rd car and it’s been great. Some people unfortunately do have problems but they are buying a second hand vehicle at the end of the day. Dee the owner always helped me and I found him very approachable , I am certainly going back for my 4th car. So would all the friends and family who purchased cars recently and in the past. Keep up the good work calder.
I bought my latest car from this company “Calder motor company” and my overall experience was 10/10. My car is 7yr old looks mint, drives mint,price was good when I compared it with other car dealers…the staff that I had contact with were polite enough and the range of cars gave me confidence that these guys knew what they were doing…I intend returning when my next service is due. I would consider buying another car of them in the future… Especially with the range of cars they have.
Having written my car off, and following a fruitless search for several weeks, I saw a nice Jaguar XJ advertised in Autotrader at Calders Motors several weeks ago. Even though it was 400 miles away near Edinburgh, I decided to give it a go! I have to say this has been one of my smoothest purchases of a car, and the first time I’ve done it over the phone and email without first seeing it or test driving! However Dee and his team at Calders were very helpful and professional throughout the process, allaying my apprehensions. Dee emailed a HPI check in advance, and even organised to pick us up at the train station. The premises felt professional and welcoming. They provided me a test drive and check over, when I got there to make sure I was happy with everything. Car was in exactly the excellent condition as described, and has been driving smoothly ever since the long drive back down South from Scotland! Even after a week when I discovered the CD authochanger magazine was missing in the boot, which even I missed in my check over, Dee swiftly arranged to send a replacement. First time I have bought my car from an independent dealer instead of a dealership and have to say despite the initial reservations, it was a smooth experience….as well as Calders being much more competitively priced than the dealerships down South! I’d definitely recommend a long-distance purchase to friends from Calders Motors, especially with their executive and high performance cars.
